Science day celebration

National Science Day is celebrated in India on 28 February each year to mark the discovery of the Raman effect by Indian physicist Sir.C.V Raman on 28 February 1928.For his discovery, Sir C.V. Raman was awarded the Nobel Prize in physics in 1930.
In 1986, the National Council for Science and Technology Communication (NCSTC) asked the Government of India to designate February 28 as National Science Day. The event is now celebrated all over India in schools, colleges, universities and other academic, scientific, technical, medical and research institutions. On the occasion of the first NSD (National Science Day)(26 February 2020 ) NCSTC announced the institution of the National Science Popularization awards for recognizing outstanding efforts in the area of science and communication.The theme of National Science Day 2022 is 'Integrated Approach in Science and Technology for Sustainable Future'.
       As part of our B.Ed curriculum, the science day celebration was conducted on 28th February 2022. In the morning,an official program was conducted in the presence of the teachers, principal and our chairman Dr V K Jayakumar sir. There was also some cultural programs arranged by first year students. The teachers, principal and the chairman gave us valuable messages and informations about science day and the importance of Science Day celebration.
    After the official program,a science exhibition was arranged both by 1st and 2nd year students. From our physical science department, we, the 2nd year students have prepared a PSLV model which was the chief attraction of the exhibition. We also supported our junior students in organising the exhibition.The students from Sabarigiri School visited the exhibition and it gave us a lot of pleasure after seeing the students enthusiasm for our work.
