Bloom's revised taxonomy

Bloom's revised taxonomy is an essential tool in the teaching-learning process. Benjamin. S. Bloom proposed a taxonomy in 1956, as a structure to understand the learning process.Bloom's taxonomy is an attempt to identify, define, classify and organise a comprehensive range of educational objectives into a compact and measurable structure.Bloom's taxonomy operate on two different level. The first level separates the educational objectives into three modes called domains including cognitive, affective and psychomotor domain. The second level sets objectives under each domain in a hierarchical order. In the year 2001,Lord Anderson and Krathwohl revised this taxonomy which reordered the sequence of categories and used verbs rather than nouns to describe each category.
As part of the B. Ed curriculum, a subject association activity is conducted to create a model of bloom's revised taxonomy. The six revised categories under cognitive domain are made into 6 petals of a flower with stem carrying the names of Anderson and Krathwohl. All the teacher trainees together planned and constructed the flower model of bloom's revised taxonomy.
