Teaching practice week 3

TEACHING PRACTICE

WEEK 3: MONDAY- FRIDAY

REFLECTION ON SCHOOL EXPERIENCE

As usual we reached school right at 9 15 am everyday of third week of teaching practice and then signed our register.In the first day i have got substitution 8th A class. So i took the topic "photochemical change". The class was really interesting with the active responses from students. On that day i went for an observation on devika's class in 9. She took the topic "covalent compounds".

The second day of third week started with morning assembly Conducted by 8 A. They did really well. On that day i had a period in 9B and i get two periods continuously. I took the topics 'ionic compounds and covalent compounds". I used ICT enabled teaching method so all students were actively engaged in the class. In the afternoon there was an awarness class about Indian constitution.we also joined in the class. That was a good experience to us

In the third day there was no class because of the educational strike by the KSU because of NEET exam issue. So we left the school with the permission of headmistress at 10 30 Am.

The fourth day started with the morning assembly Conducted by 10 A. They conducted assembly with so many new things. In assembly there was a magazine presentation by headmistress as a part of ecoclub activity. There was an awarness class taken by KSEB in the afternoon. That was really useful to all .

In fifth day i had fourth period on 9B standard and i also took the topic "covalent compounds ". This week also Was a productive one and gave us lots of new experiences.

CURRICULAR AND CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

In this week students of 8th standard were taught using of teaching manual from their second text and in the 9th standard first part text. The clas was very interesting with including the activities. Teaching aids such as charts And ICT enabled slides were used for both classes appropriately based on the topic taught.

The reflective journals were also done this week.

EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

There were so many activities conducted in the school by this week.

On 19/07/22 there was a constitutional awareness class in govt jawahar HS . The class was conducted by Mohan Kumar and his 2 assocites ,who were the members of KILA.

All the students including students from HSS also were participated in that class. That was really useful to all.

July 21 as moon day so the school conducted so many activities related to this such as chart presentation quiz etc in the guidance of science club. Nidhi from 8 A standard won the first prize in quiz competition. In the same day there was a magazine presentation in the assembly by the headmistress. It was prepared by the students as a part of ecoclub activity. There was a quiz competition conducted by the ecoclub on environmental day so prizes were gave for the students who are in first and second position , Arshitha got first prize and Nidhi got second prize.we could also be a part of this auspicious moment.

On the same day there was an awareness class about handling of electricity conducted by the KSEB in the school. The class was taken by Manmohan, the subengineer of KSEB. He gave valuable advices to all. The class was very relevant. July 22 was π day so mathematics club conducted several activities like quiz , chart presentation etc under the guidance of teacher trainees of mathematics department and mathematics teacher.

OVERALL REFLECTION OF CLASSROOM EXPERIENCE

The students of 8th standard and 9th standard were given teaching manual oriented activity based classroom experience. Total 8teaching manuals of both classess were completed including this week. Students were given followup activities like assignment and short note in science diary.
